Motion.

This week I started to learn about "motion" pictures. I learned the difference between stabilizing the camera or following the object with my camera and the different kind of pictures it produces. I have a photo-shoot I have to do using this technique and I'm excited to see how my shots come out.

Keep on keeping on.

One word to describe this week. Hectic. Between my assignments and free lancing, I feel like I've been shooting for 7 days straight. Not complaining, well, maybe just a little. I have learned ALOT this week though. I am finally learning how to shoot in "manual" and I think I am doing quite well with it. I got some really good pictures, and I am really proud of them. I have also been doing a lot of research on my major and how to be a successful photographer in general. There's so much more to learn about it, and I am so excited to find out what else there is. Well, I think that's really it for now but I am going to leave you guys with a quote by Ansel Adams that I absolutely love. Enjoy.

“You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.”
Ansel Adams

First blog post EVER.

So we've been in school for almost a month, and I thought things would get a little less "crazy"...but they haven't. The funny thing is, I love the craziness. I love the fact that I never know when I am going to take that "perfect picture." I love having to get in my car and driving for miles just to get an incredible shot. Most of all though, I absolutely love the fact that this is how the rest of my life is going to be. Going into the photography program was nerve-racking (considering I have never owned an DSLR camera) but it's safe to say that I made the right decision. I am learning so much, everything from the correct f-stop to angling my camera to get the perfect light angle. But when all the craziness is done at the end of the day, I am doing something that makes me happy. And isn't that what life is about? Doing things that make you happy?
